Futozao Shamisen with Higashi Sawari
The foldable Mitsuori Tsugaru Shamisen offers the same excellent sound quality as a regular Nobezao shamisen, even after being assembled. Its body can be separated into three parts, each with its own storage bag, making it much easier to carry when traveling.
Since I often have opportunities to bring my instrument abroad, this three-fold shamisen is extremely convenient — I can take it on board as cabin luggage without worrying about the risks of checked baggage. In addition, for future maintenance or repairs, each part can be shipped separately, which makes the process much more practical and efficient.

Karin Tsugaru Shamisen with Mitsuori Neck (foldable)
The shamisen is a delicate traditional instrument that requires careful handling.
To ensure its longevity and prevent damage, please follow the guidelines:
- Store the shamisen at room temperature.
- Do not leave the shamisen in a vehicle, even for a short duration, as excessive heat can cause damage.
- Keep the shamisen away from heaters, radiators, and any other sources of direct heat.
- Avoid high humidity and all contact with water.
- The bachi should be held properly during use. Do not press the tip against the skin of the instrument, as this may cause damage.
- Always remove the bridge (koma) after each practice session to prevent undue stress on the skin.
